Okaeri Japanese Cafe in Rockville, MD, IVEA's Japanese cafe with Chef Junzo Miyajima's comfort-food menu, drew a review from Bethesda Magazine's Todd Kliman in August 2026. It is the second location of the Okaeri cafe in Centreville, Virginia.

## The must-gets

Guests order at touchscreens, and the open kitchen lets diners watch the soufflé pancakes being made. The review names the pancakes and the Japanese egg salad sandwich as the must-gets, and also points to omurice, curries, udon and a yuzu bubble tea. The soufflé pancakes are the best first order.

## On TV

In September, WJLA's Good Morning Washington visited and listed the pancake flavors: strawberry, chocolate banana, ube, matcha and fresh fruit. The cafe also serves Japanese curry and hamburger steak, and it has an anime shop with goods imported from Japan. Okaeri means "welcome home."
